The subject area of this article applies to a study of low frequency noise - mainly infrasound signals generated by the operational indoor power transformer. The object of the study is localized in south Poland with a total apparent power equal to 1250 kVA. In addition, the power transformer is located away from national roads and motorways. Scope of the performed analysis includes designation of time runs, depicting temporal changes, and designation of frequency spectra of the recorded low frequency signals. Evaluation of the impact of acoustic background on surrounding was made. Moreover, the scope of the analysis, performed in this field, concerned assessment of the impact of meteorological parameters related to the applied measurement system on obtained results. Values obtained from measurements were related to and compared with the limits specified in standards and regulations existing in this field. The test results show that the transformer emits noise in the infrasound and low frequency band, but their level is lower than law limits.
