The significant centres of settlement on the territory of the Czech Republic have also their suburbs aside from their core areas (centres). The dynamics of outflow of population from city centres to suburban areas influences significantly the global character of a city as such. The influence of suburbanization is currently evident in all larger residential centres. The urbanization of rural population and the extension of administration boundaries of cities lead to distinguished and mutual interaction of the neighbouring residential centres. This process taking place in agglomerations influences significantly the development of the agglomeration not only of the core area, but also the outer zone of the agglomeration. Suburbanization can be considered as a natural and unavoidable mechanism of development of metropolitan areas. In industrialized countries occurred regional division into a core and outskirts. The outskirts represented an agricultural or material background for its core so it can be stated that the territory was not composed from similar regions.
