The subject of this article is a two-storey, detached residential building. The building's structure is characterized by concrete sealing?s, load bearing walls made of brick and basements. The building has been deflected from the vertical as a result of a multiple underground exploitation which in the hard coal beds has been conducted. It is planned a continuation of mining exploitation in the area of the building. Use of a deflected object is connected with many inconveniences. Moreover, its market value falls down. The causes of a meaningful deflection of building have been analyzed. It should be emphasized that this building is also located in a neighborhood of discontinuous deformation. A significant influence of occurrence of the continuous and discontinuous deformations on the building?s deformation and its deflection form vertical has been shown. Furthermore, the theoretical values of land subsidence and inclinations caused by a realized excavation have been determined. They have been compared with their real values calculated on the base of geodesic surveys results. It has been shown that the building usage difficulties will be growing and its market value will be decreasing. In this paper have been also analyzed the technical possibilities of an object deflection form vertical removal. It has been proved that a building can be up righted thanks to its non-uniform lifting up. It can be achieved by the use of the hydraulic jacks which are built-up in the load-bearing walls. This method allows to bring back the full value and improve the conditions of building usage.
