Heavy metals as one of the group of contaminants have great ecological importance determined by their ecotoxicity and ability of accumulation.
The aim of the study was the assessment of the contamination of agriculturally used soils by mobile forms of heavy metals in Madunice, this area is situated on the right side of river Vah in Slovak Republic. Our work deals with contamination of agricultural used soils by mobile forms of selected heavy metals (Pb, Cd, Zn and Cu). 20 sampling sites were chosen and the analyses of pHKCl, content of humus (by Turin) and chosen heavy metals were carried out (1M NH4NO3). Analytical final procedure was flame AAS. The gained results of contents of heavy metals were evaluated according to law No. 220/2004 valid in Slovak Republic. Evaluated results indicate that the critical value for mobile form cadmium (0.1 mg/kg) was exceeded on 12 from 20 sampling sites, and on the all sampling sites the critical value for lead was exceeded (0.1 mg/kg). Critical values for copper (1 mg/kg) zinc (2 mg/kg) were not exceeded on mentioned sampling sites. The exchange pHKCl soil reaction is a very important factor affecting the mobility of heavy metals in the soil. Based on the criteria for the evaluation of the soil reaction we can conclude that 5 % of observed soil has extremely acid soil reaction, 5 % has strongly acid, 5 % has acid, 75 % slightly acid and 10 % has a neutral soil reaction. According to the criteria to assessing of humus content in the soil we can conclude, that 5 % of observed soil has very low humus content, 70 % has a low humus content, 20 % has a medium humus content and 5 % has a high humus content.
