The results of the field studies of heavy metals in snow cover presented in this work for urbanized territory of Almaty agglomeration first time. Seventy-five samples were collected during the period from February 5 to March 10, 2018 at 25 permanent monitoring sites. Samples of snow were analyzed for heavy metals (Cu, Zn, Pb, Cd) using ??S-7000 (Shimadzu). The obtained quantitative data were used to assess the nature of the spatial distribution of metals in the snow cover of the study area and based on them were plotted maps in ArcGIS. The territory of the agglomeration is experiencing a serious technology impact, most of the pollutants exceed the permissible standards were defined. Emissions related to the presence of a large number of transport, use of coal at Thermal Power Station (TPS) during the heating period, the role of which increases significantly. An important role is hydrometeorological conditions and orographic features of the location, which contribute to the accumulation of pollutants in the snow cover.
