Often, accelerated development of business activity in modern world contradicts with environment and thus, ecological condition worsens. The topic is so urgent, that it has acquired a global character and constitutes the significant problem for many country.
Mountains of Ajara is one of the demographically loaded region, which has quite developed business environment. Because of its complex relief and high level of precipitation, natural environment is less stable and elemental processes are active (landslide, mudflow, erosion). During of recent 30 years the region has faced more, than 60 destructive landslides and mudflows, which damaged 2/3 part of residential areas; 7200 hectare of agricultural lands were damaged by landslide; more, than 1070 residential houses were demolished; up to 85 man was dead and more, than 25 000 ecological migrants was moved from disaster area. The urgency of the issue is increased by its development tendencies, which is still observed regarding the business activity. As a result of the study, the ecological properties of particular business activity`s influence over environmental condition of mountains of Ajara is defined and there are revealed the geographic originalities of specific problems` development. By assessment of sustainability of local landscapes, also under the potential of existing resources, there is defined the optimization ways to develop the business and there are set preventive measures to protect the environment. The identification of local ecological problems for the specific region`s example and setting an environmental protection events under global approach by foreseeing the rational natural management principles, will have cognitive and applicable meaning as well.
