Every production process taking place in an industrial facility must take into account the possibility of both external and internal incidents and industrial-scale breweries are no different. Like all industrial facilities and production processes, even breweries are threatened by a number of anthropogenic or naturogenic incidents, or a mix of both. The main priority in ensuring the functionality of a whole production process and safety system is correctly identifying different elements which are critical to the ongoing safe, and clean, operation of the facility. Today categories of safety and security (OHSAS, SEVESO, food safety...) are analysed separately because there is no system which is merging these separate categories into one comprehensive system which can accurately assess all possible weak points. The CARVER method?s structure may be able to successfully connect the already individually-assessed areas. The CARVER method was created by American military experts with the goal of getting the user to think and act like a potential attacker. In the food industry, as well as others, this method could become a crucial tool for indicating the locations in an industrial facility or the areas of production which most critical.
