The article presents the results of aircraft positioning using the PPP method in air navigation. The PPP method is known as one of the new GNSS measurement techniques in use in aviation for precise aircraft positioning. In the article the position of the Cessna 172 aircraft was retrieved during an in-flight test conducted around the EPDE military airport in D?blin, Poland. The position of the Cessna 172 was determined and expressed in the BLh geodesic coordinates. The computations were performed in the gLAB v.4.1.0 using the Kalman (forward) filter. The mathematical model of the Cessna 172 aircraft position solution is based on the application of non-differential P1/P2 code observations and L1/L2 phase observations in the Ionosphere-Free linear combination. In the research experiment, code-phase observations from the GPS satellite navigation system were used. The average positioning accuracy of the Cessna 172 aircraft for the horizontal coordinates is in the range of 0.02 m to 0.03 m. Its average positioning accuracy for the vertical coordinate is in the range of approximately 0.03 m to 0.04 m. The article also defines an aircraft position error in 3D space using the MRSE (Mean Radial Spherical Error) parameter. The mean MRSE value for the Cessna 172 in the experiment conducted is in the range of 0.04 m to 0.05 m.
