Several countries have developed separate strategies for the introduction and development of entrepreneurship education. In turn, the involvement of young people in entrepreneurship has been on the agenda of the European Union since the economic crisis, when in many member countries it was exactly the young people who were most impacted by the narrowing of the labor market and consequently the sharp rise in unemployment. Despite the fact that not all students potentially starting a business will be successful, unsuccessful business attempts are also linked to significant benefits for young people's future professional and personal growth. Acquiring new skills, developing social capital, improving knowledge, getting new contacts for young people will also be useful in any other area of activity, even if they do not continue to do business.
The purpose of this study is to identify the current situation in the field of entrepreneurship education and to evaluate the possible incentives for student entrepreneurship activities in Latvia.
The task of the study is to provide a broader insight into the current situation of student attitudes and interests, involvement and existing business risks.
The subject of the research is incentives that influence students' willingness to start a business or create a startup. The subject of the research - elaboration of measures and proposals promoting involvement, which could ensure the promotion of innovative entrepreneurship and the development of entrepreneurial abilities in the university environment in Latvia.
Research Methodology - an exploratory research paradigm is used to conduct the study, which looks at human activity as a social phenomenon that manifests itself in a particular social environment and context and is closely related to the researcher's interest in the subject being studied [2]. Methods of collecting and researching data are gathering and collecting information based on systematic analysis of scientific research and publicly available information; The focus group is selected as the most appropriate data collection method for high-quality research. To find out individuals' opinions and attitudes, the focus group discussion was carried out. In aggregate, opinions of the 52 students were summarised regarding the start a business or create a startup.
Both theoretical and practical researches emphasize that entrepreneurship cannot be ?learned?, but more related to hereditary abilities, cultural and social environment, character traits and values. Therefore, only a limited number of young people can and will be interested and capable of successful entrepreneurship.
