The goal of this work is to study the processes of producing carbon aerogels, silica-carbon aerogels and CNT-silica aerogels and search for new areas of their applications. To achieve this goal, aerogels using the sol-gel method and the supercritical drying process were synthesized. The analysis of the obtained aerogels was carried out using the methods of nitrogen porosimetry and scanning electron microscopy. In addition, a software that uses cellular automaton models to generate virtual structures of the studied types of aerogels was used. To produce the carbon aerogels and silica-carbon aerogels, resorcinol-formaldehyde and silica-resorcinol-formaldehyde aerogels were subjected to the pyrolysis process. Tetraethoxysilane was used as a precursor for the synthesis of CNT-silica aerogels. Carbon nanotubes were added at the sol stage, then they were dispersed, and then the sol was gelled. Analytical studies of aerogels were carried out. It was found that the synthesized aerogels are promising materials for sensitive elements of gas sensors and highly effective sorbents.
