TEMPERATURE DYNAMICS OF GALVANIC CELLS IN TESTING TIME

In the paperwork are presented new aspects regarding test results of galvanic cells used in the apparatus intended for use in explosive atmospheres.
In the first part of the paper was presented the explosion risk. The explosion risk involved by the presence of technical equipment in areas endangered by the presence of flammable substances is manifested through two sources of risk. The spark ignition is due to electrical equipment, electrostatic discharges and mechanical impact. The mixtures of air with flammable substances could be ignited also, by hot surfaces. It was presented also, a summary of intrinsic safety type or protection requirements. Shortly, the intrinsic safety type of protection acts exactly on explosion risks: ignition from sparks and ignition from hot surfaces. Additionally, the intrinsic type of protection has a specific method to deal with faults.
In the second part were exposed the test requirements of galvanic cells. Consequently, the test setup and its performance were presented.
In the third part of the paper were presented and discussed the results obtained from the tests. The uncertainty of measured values was also computed and presented in this part.
As main conclusion, the analysis of the tests results underlines that in the upper part of the temperature range of tested galvanic cells the temperature variation rate has a maximum. This result could help to establish the ambient temperature needed to measure the lower electrical resistance of galvanic cells.
