Ascent and submersion of algae depends on their density. As a result, algae find themselves in different conditions for solar radiation and temperature. The paper represents model of algae concentration during vegetative period both in upper mixed layer and in bottom layer for three types of algae depending on density.
The model is based on research of water samples from various horizons obtained in the Gorky reservoir from 2014 to 2019. Samples were examined for the presence of algae using a microscope equipped with a digital camera and connected to a computer. The results of the identification of algae and the measurement of their parameters were carried out using a Goryaev camera. Samples were concentrated for counting cells and determining the volume and biomass according to the method proposed by I.G. Radchenko et al. Diatoms, cyanobacteria and dinophytes were identified. Both the number of cells of the species and the concentration of biomass of the species were researched depending on depth. The algae concentration equations are based on a model proposed by W. Fennel and T. Neumann. The meteorological data for the Gorky reservoir were used as a function of solar radiation. The temperature dependence of the algae concentration was based on O. Bernard and B. Remond model. Comparison showed good agreement of simulation results with field studies concerning biomass concentration, maximal concentration moment and share of cyanobacteria, share of neutrally buoyant species including chrisophyta, dinoflagellates and share of diatoms. |
