Air travel contributes to climate change and causes environmental and economic damage by its CO2, NOx, noise and other emissions. The global carbon emissions from commercial flights are rising to 70% faster than predicted because of the growing demand for air travel in developed countries. The aviation industry accounts for 2 to 3 per cent of the CO2 emissions in the world. The principal purpose of the presented article is to acquaint with one current trend of everyday life, particularly in aviation titled as carbon offsetting. In our research, we looked at the impact of environmental problems, especially carbon pollution and the possibilities of their reducing. In the first step current state was examined. We performed overall research and analysis and available data was summarized as information about an innovative offsetting method. This study was extended by displaying various ways how this modern form of compensation helps in everyday life and brings a lot of advantages for the future. Subsequently, the contribution to aviation was analysed. Global carbon emissions from the aviation industry are growing faster than expected. But the new offsetting schemes can prevent or remove the equivalent amount of greenhouse gases elsewhere. Many accredited carbon offsetting schemes involve planting trees or help in rural communities with effective cookstoves to absorb or decrease carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
