Decisions related to the choice of investment site selection, made by government administration bodies, have a major impact on the economy in the region. They can cause economic growth or may cause slowing down its development. To avoid or at least minimize the negative effects of investment decisions, they should be taken on the basis of analyzes carried out earlier. Conducting an analysis related to indication the site selection for a given investment object requires obtaining information covering various spatial data topics. These are surveying, geographic, hydrographic, geological, environmental and social data etc. The thematic scope of data presented here is a part of the spatial information infrastructure system. The basic task of this system is facilitating access to spatial data in order to implement tasks in the field of real estate management. The development of the spatial information infrastructure system caused that data contained in these systems are available to all institutions as well as natural and legal persons.
In this paper the analysis of the usability of data contained in the local spatial information system of the Krakow city, was carried out for the purpose of verifying the site selection of investments of a residential, commercial and industrial nature. |
