The matrix of silicon carbide (SiC) is sufficiently rigid and strong, but in order to fully realize its potential capabilities, it is necessary to reduce its fragility and increase its reliability when used under shock loading conditions, which is achieved by creating ceramic composites based on it. Zirconia (ZrO2) was chosen as a hardening additive, since it has very high resistance to crack propagation and thermal, electrical, optical, strength, and other properties. Stabilization of the cubic phase of zirconia with various impurities is used to prevent cracking during firing and increase the density of ceramic products based on ZrO2, since they do not have polymorphic transformations. The most stable are solid solutions of Y2O3 in ZrO2. This article presents experimental studies of the process of obtaining a ceramic matrix composite material based on silicon carbide, Modified by zirconia particles partially stabilized by yttrium oxide by uniaxial hot pressing. During the study, a new unique composite material was obtained with the composition SiC-ZrO2[Y2O3 (6 mol%)]. Computer simulation was carried out on the basis of the developed mathematical model for describing the sintering process by uniaxial hot pressing taking into account grain recrystallization. The dependence of increasing the maximum holding temperature and porosity of the material is established. The choice of the optimal mode for the system is presented based on the revealed dependences of the maximum holding temperature and the content of the strengthening additive ZrO2 [Y2O3].
