Ensuring information security in various infrastructures is extremely relevant, due to the increase in the number of automated workstations (AWPs). The article discusses and analyzes the market of single-board computers, as the main computer, as well as their functionality, disadvantages, advantages over stationary PCs, uses to protect information.
It is possible to assume that the relevance of the topic in the modern world will only increase every year. There is a general trend around the world to reduce the size of hardware elements, PCs, laptops and smartphones. Technologies are growing rapidly, and as a result, technologies are improving, the physical dimensions of computers are decreasing. The world has moved away from the need to use huge rooms for computers. Every person in the modern world has one or another computer with small dimensions. Today there are single board computers. They are usually very small in size and very cheap in price, but they still provide an almost complete PC. The use of such devices is practically huge and unlimited, ranging from training to access control and management systems, video surveillance, and servers. Such an extensive list of applications is due to the fact that we have a full-fledged Linux distribution together with pin-connectors for connecting various peripherals, as well as a huge base of additional devices, drivers, and literature. Including through the use of single-board computers, it is technically possible to abandon full-size system units, such as Micro-ATX, ATX, XL-ATX for office desktops. This will be extremely beneficial compared to a full-fledged pc. And also, it is possible to create a convenient station for an information security specialist based on a single-board computer. Small size and low power consumption can be a key factor in choosing a single-board computer when working at large facilities. |
