The article analyzes the political characteristics of the federalization of powerful countries of the world. In this paper, we have tried to highlight the advantages and disadvantages of federalization and the impact mass media on the sovereignty and independence of the state, including the case of the Republic of Germany. This includes identify and show the influence of federalization on the political, cultural and economic orientation of the regions. It is confirmed that the strategic national interests of Ukraine are the issue of relations with the European Union and include the renewal and integrity of cultural policy, overcoming the negative consequences of the financial and economic crisis and preventing large-scale economic reforms in the future, as well as the experience of state and administrative reforms of countries that are not members of the European Union, but have their own positive developments in this area. It is proved that the German experience of decentralization is also interesting for Ukraine. The authors note that federalization can strengthen the split of the country, if it implies a greater cultural, economic and even political isolation of the regions and accordingly, an aggravation of contradictions between them because of different historical figures, cultural and economic orientation, different traditions, language and confessional affiliation.
