Water is an essential ingredient of food, an important part of the environment and a substance with a multifaceted use in manufacturing and other activities. It is an essential component not only of the human environment, but also of all plant and animal ecosystems. It is the main medium for transport of nutrients. It is a renewable resource of the biosphere and practically cannot be exhausted.
This paper describes the occurrence of oxohalides in water and determines oxohalides by means of ion chromatography. The selected oxohalides are bromates, chlorates and chlorites. These analytes were examined in real water samples. The water was sampled in three reservoirs and related water treatment plants. |
