The article deals with methods and tools for strategic environmental impact assessment (EIA) in the context of the CEVYKO project, whose facility capacity is 100,000 t/year of processed mixed, separated and bulky municipal waste. Only category O waste (other waste) will be processed. In the introduction, the basic principles and legal framework of EIA are presented, including their importance for sustainability and environmental protection. Subsequently, the specific methods used in the evaluation of projects with a high environmental impact, such as CEVYKO, are described, including risk analysis, impact modeling and evaluation of alternatives. The article also focuses on data collection and analysis tools that enable accurate predictions of environmental impacts and effective mitigation planning. In the conclusion, the results of the EIA for the CEVYKO project are discussed, including the identified key environmental impacts and proposed measures for their minimization. The study highlights the importance of a comprehensive and integrated approach to EIA, which includes all relevant aspects of waste management and contributes to sustainable development.
