The geodynamic situation in the region of the ?Rostov NPP?(next NPP) location is considered in terms of assessing the neotectonic activity of the territory and its relationship to seismicity. The authors used their own and published data, as well as the results of field seismic observations conducted by the small aperture array of the Institute of Geosphere Dynamics Russian Academy of Sciences in 2016. The estimation of vertical Pliocene-Quaternary deformations by a method of stratigraphic and geomorphic reference surfaces is used. The absence of newly formed Pliocene-Quaternary faults disturbances was noted, but the importance of the reactivation of ancient structures, including those controlling the position of the Karpinsky Ridge, was also noted.
