The digital economy is the basis for the development of society as a whole and has an impact ona variety of sectors of the economy, improving the quality of life, expanding the accessible environment for people. There is a need to determine the degree of readiness for the transition to the digital economy of all participants in the process: the business community, the government and the population. International and Russian indices are being developed to determine the position of countries. The low position of our country in the rankings of readiness for digital transformation is explained by the huge territories of Russia and the complexity of such estimates (indices) at the regional level. In this research the statistical analysis from the point of view of introduction and use of digital technologies by the population in regions of the Russian Federation is carried out (multidimensional classification of regions is carried out). Indicators reflecting the use of ICT in the regions of Russia are proposed, and the use of electronic public services by residents of the regions is considered.
