In the current forest typology?s scheme of Latvia the descriptions of vegetation are based on corresponding forest type?s ground vegetation in maturity stand. However, in practical forest management it is important to know forest ground vegetation?s development through all foresty cycle and valuate phytocoenoses state in every stand?s age and development?s stage. There are significant changes in ground vegetation?s taxonomic structure, projective covering and vertical structure in all forest types from clearing till maturity stand?s age. Paper?s goal is to characterize forest ground vegetation?s succession in the first years after the clearcut is done in Hylocomiosa forest type where Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) is the dominant tree species. In total six permanent sampling plots have been established in Kalsnava region?s scientific research forests in Hylocomiosa forest site type stand for determination of vegetation?s parameters using point ? square and Braun ? Blanquet method. The research object was established in Scots pine, Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karsten) and silver birch (Betula pendula Roth) maturity stands before the cutting. The tree stands were cut in late 2015. The inventory in the same plots was performed four times ? in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. Registered changes in vascular plant's, mosse's, lichen's and woody plant's projective covering?s proportion. The number of species compared to maturity stand is increasing: four species using point-square method and 17 species using Braun ? Blanquet method. Shannon ? Wiener indexes? values shows that ground vegetation?s biological diversity has increased after the clearcut: H(s) in maturity stand = 2.912, but in year clearing H(s) = 3.202. Ellenberg?s ecological indicators? values are also increasing: nitrogen?s value has increased the most - by 2.62 units. The most significant changes in individual species occurrence are between the second and third years? and Chekanovsky coefficient value (0.19) is confirming that.
