Croatian territory is located at the transition region of Southeast Europe and the Mediterranean. Stretching through this area, Croatian territory is increasingly affecting dry periods affecting Europe. The task of this study was to perform analysis of ecosystems using MODIS products. Due to the large amount of data work was created using GIS tools for ease of reference in the data. The paper detailing the purpose and process of making it would be easier to interpret. Conclusions contribute to a better understanding of the distribution and adaptation of ecosystems in Croatia. As for the ecosystems in the Republic of Croatia have been shown to be in different parts of the country inhabit ecosystems that do not have a great ability to adapt to variations in weather conditions. In east regions is less possibility of deviation from the long-standing ways of adaptation of ecosystems. Most resilient ecosystems, which at the features of the terrain, as the weather, proved ecosystems on the Velebit mountain in central Croatia. Given the diversity of forests in the Croatian, area as such is suitable for the study of the main types of European forests and exposure to the latter extreme climatic phenomena in the southern limits of distribution of species. Therefore, it is possible to get information about customizing different ecosystems in different terrain conditions.
