The paper presents a new method for reconditioning of automotive parts in an ultrasonic field by reworking. Experimental results were obtained in the case of using different material couples. Using three couples of different materials, three technological metallization processes were studied:
- oxy-fuel flame and wire
- three-wire electric arc
- oxy-fuel flame and powder
In experimental work the following material couples were studied: X30NiMoVCr11-STELLITE 12 AWS, X30NiMoCr11-TP 4000, FxMo1Si24-STELLITE 12AWS. Determinations were made in order to determine the hardness, tensile strength, yield strength, impact strength and relative elongation in the resulted metal material. Significant changes of these properties in case of using ultrasound field technology in comparison with classic metal spraying process were found.
From the analysis of the experimental results obtained we find the following:
- the average HRC hardness values increase by 8 to 25% in the deposited layer, with 2 ... 5% in the base material and decrease by 5 ... 12% in the heat-affected area, in the case of welding refurbishment In ultrasonic cassette in comparison to reconditioning by welding without ultrasonic activation;
- the average values of the mechanical properties increase 10 ... 20% in the deposited layer, with 5 ... 8% in the base material and decrease by 2 ... 5% in the thermally influenced area, in the case of welding Ultrasonic field as compared to reconditioning by welding without ultrasonic activation, which is explicable by subtracting the structure during the solidification process and obtaining a homogeneous structure with fine echiaxial grains under the action of ultrasounds;
- the best results on the increase of the hardness in the deposited layer are obtained in the case of reconditioning by welding in the protective gas environment the WIG process with the ultrasonic activation of the reconditioned part and the worst results are obtained in the case of refurbishment by welding with Oxyacetylene flame without ultrasonic activation;
- the best results regarding the improvement of the mechanical properties of the resulting torque are obtained in the case of the reconditioning by welding in the protective gas environment, the MIG / MAG process with the ultrasonic activation of the electrodes and the reconditioned part, and the worst results The MIG / MAG process without ultrasonic activation is obtained in the case of the reconditioning by means of welding in a protective gas environment;
