Use of biomass for energy purposes is one of the viable priorities of the energy and forestry policies of the state. Given the expanse of forest in Slovakia include the forest biomass among one of the best renewable energy potential. It is used in the traditional way as it is burning, but also further processing of the products in the form of pellets or briquettes. Appropriate are also fast-growing trees. Currently, large amounts of available biomass are unused. These are mainly so-called biomass waste residues of agricultural crops, forests felling residual wood waste. For energy purposes, but are not part of the timber, not in terms of quality suitable for use in the woodworking industry, opting for the residues after extraction (top of trees, branches and branches), small scale trees from falling wood (uprooted stumps, roots of the trees), thinning, etc. A good source of data for determining the potential of forest biomass and wood waste, forest management plan (FMP). This paper is dedicated to problems of analytical tools to quantify accessible and usable quantity of biomass waste application multi-criteria analysis taking into account the specific technical and natural factors using GIS tools.
