ECOLOGICAL ISSUES IN LATVIAN JEWELRY DESIGN

In the framework of this paper, Latvian jewelry, which is made in the past twelve years, is studied by the field research method. The materials used and technologies applied in the making of jewelry were the subject of the research. Besides the specific examples of jewelry, also their authors, which have furthered use of advanced and favorable for environmental methods in the making of jewelry. Research data are obtained based on database developed by the author, which can be used in the Internet, where 804 photos of jewelry, information on jewelry ? materials, technology, color and data on jewelry authors are stored up by 19 April 2017 [1]. There are discussed such important ecological issues as recycled materials, apparent waste, quickly renewable resources, technologies of jewelry making and duration of use. Likewise in the scientific paper, practical recommendations for makers of jewelry, which could further conservation and protection of nature resources of the planet.
