The combination of wood-PVC was used for the first time at an outdoor fire test on a reduced scale. From a scientific point of view, there is a strong the need to repeat similar fire test with a combination of materials that occur in the interior of buildings. It opens the opportunity to confront theory with the results of similar tests carried out. The combination of traditional and modern materials in interiors of buildings occur very often. Both wooden and or wood-plastic composite materials are mainly used to cover the floors. In many offices, homes, schools and other public buildings is PVC commonly occurs while the furniture is mostly made of wood or wood-composite materials. Respecting the dominant volume of wood in interiors, we opted for a combination of wood - PVC, while we put together packages alternating with spruce prisms and packages from PVC in ratio 60:40. The material was not mixed within the fuel packages to maintain its homogenity in order to allow the individual performance during the fire experiment. The principal variables monitored where the temperature on the thermocouple located at the bottom, middle layer and the top of the cage model. The flashover phenomenon was observed and the temperature over 1000 °C as well as extreme amount of irritating smoke.
