Air pollution is a local, Pan-European and hemisphere problem. Air pollutants emitted from an industrial site can be transported into the atmosphere, contributing to low air quality in other areas. In Europe, the industrial emissions of many atmospheric pollutants have fallen substantially in recent decades, leading to an improvement in air quality in the region, but accidental emissions due to industrial or other damage can adversely affect air quality.
A less controllable aspect is the alteration of the physical-chemical characteristics of the atmosphere caused by accident and / or damage as a result of an error, omission or natural disaster, which causes the air to become toxic, incompatible with life. Accidental pollution is often of high intensity and of short duration.
The paper presents an advanced way of remote (remote) identification, visualization and quantification of airborne chemicals using an ultra-low-scanning imaging system that is commonly used in difficult environments (environmental accidents, terrorism, calamities, etc.). to emergency response forces as well as to research experts.
Expected results consist in identifying the gases underlying an incident, determining the degree of pollution of the affected area, and validating the method (to demonstrate the fulfilment of performance criteria) for determining the pollutant species.
