GIS-technologies in hydrogeology facilitate transformation of methods of cartographic works. At the same time, it is necessary to provide methodological recommendations and guidelines for presentation of geographical features on the digital hydrogeological maps.
The hydrogeological maps are constructed on the results of the hydrogeological research with due consideration of geological conditions of the region, aquifers and aquifer systems, aquicludes, linear structural elements and other data.
This article is about the developed classifier ?Geochronology? and the ArcGIS style ?Geochronology.style?, used for displaying aquifers and aquifer systems on the hydrogeological maps. It is important, because the age of rocks determines the geological structure of the region, and the chronological scale dates geological events and natural periods of the geological record.
