Generational conflicts exist because of different needs, goals and values, as well as differences in the expected outcome. Over the course of the century, work has become a means of challenge, while humanity has evolved from a generation of goods to a hyperconsumer society. The purpose of this study is to analyze ways of resolving conflicts for X and Y generation employees to identify differences and understand possible ways to compromise decision making. The tasks of the study are to evaluate these generational differences to understand the differences between how these two generations resolve conflicts within organizations; and to compare them. The Quantitative research was carried out regarding the types of the contradictions of organizational interactions between employees of X and Y generations in Latvia (N=110). The research was undertaken using the Thomas?Kilmann conflict mode instrument, in order to find ways of resolving conflicts from a generational perspective [5]. The TKI has been the leader in conflict resolution assessment for more than forty years. This instrument requires no special qualifications for administration. The TKI is designed to measure a person's behavior in conflict situations. The measurements are in two dimensions: (1) assertiveness and (2) cooperativeness. The X generation can be described as skeptics who have experienced many things that have not worked as promised and rely mostly on themselves. This generation has witnessed not only tectonic political change, but also the transition from the industrial to digital era; and was the first to master computer science and computers. Y generation does not respect the hierarchy and does not work for the employer, but rather with them; and they are no longer ready to work as hard as the previous generations, because they want to devote more time to personal life and hobbies. The research showed that conflict resolution strategies in the workplace are different in the context of generations, although collaboration in the work environment makes it adapt and interact.
