This work studied the problem of the joint use of Gauss - Laplace and B (beta) distributions to describe the disintegration of minerals of polymineral ores, which is associated with the liberation of mineral grains - the release of monomineral particles from intergrowths with other minerals. The basic position of the work is the dependence of the result of reducing the size of mineral particles on the energy expended on this process, postulated in the mineral processing theory. This dependence was taken into account to determine the parameters for reducing the size of mineral particles using the values of the Bond index. Also considered were the results of applying the Gauss - Laplace distribution obtained by estimating the predicted sizes of mineral particles using the laws of Kick-Kirpichev, Rittinger and Bond. In this case, the main attention was paid to the substantiation of the potential use of the B-distribution to describe the mineral complex disintegration process. The authors propose a concept of simulation modeling of mineral disintegration processes, which is based on the idea of predicting changes in the individual yields of narrow fractions during a reduction in the size of mineral particles. It is shown that the use of a modeling algorithm based on this idea allows analytical description of the displacement of the extremum of the distribution density of the private yields of narrow fractions in the coordinates of size classes and the classes of the content of the useful component (grade fraction). To verify the proposed concept of simulation modeling, authors used the results of reducing the size of ferruginous quartzite samples from the JSC Olkon deposit. Application of the algorithm made it possible to obtain predictive estimates of the distribution of narrow fractions of ferruginous quartzite with a value of the approximation confidence coefficient not lowers than 0.95.
