The article examines the issues of virtual reconstruction of memorable places associated
with residency and activities of V.F. Voyno-Yasenetsky (Saint Luke the Surgeon) in the city of Tambov (Russia). Valentin Felixovich Voyno-Yasenetsky (1877-1961) ? a religious figure, archbishop, famous Russian and Soviet doctor, doctor of medical sciences and theology, winner of the Stalin prize of the first degree. In order to visualize individual objects of memorable places in Tambov, their three-dimensional virtual reconstruction was performed using an open-source software platform OpenSimulator, which is a server platform for creating three-dimensional virtual worlds. Visualization of the museum is available to all Internet users. The use of a three-dimensional environment for implementation of a virtual museum is attractive to the users of the system due to the fact that their own personality is represented as an avatar, which can freely move within a virtual world and study it from any point. The authors of the project have also created a prototype of a virtual tour of studied memorials. Implementation of the museum allows obtaining new historical information, increasing reliability of knowledge about historical objects, and providing a modern level of their possible reconstruction. |
