The paper discusses the conceptual issues of creating and using the information infrastructure of a multi-satellite system for Earth remote sensing (MS RS) to address a wide range of problems in the oil and gas industry. We analyzed the information needs arising from monitoring the state of oil and gas production, storage, transportation, and refining facilities, as well as the possibilities of meeting these needs in the framework of a promising MS RS created on the basis of a small spacecraft constellation.
The concept of the information infrastructure architecture of the MS RS is proposed. This architecture involves the creation of a federal zero trust network operable in the absence of constant telecommunication connectivity by using public communication channels (Internet, etc.), owned communication channels of the MS RS infrastructure, partners and data consumers, including asymmetric ones (for example, satellites), as well as by transferring information using removable media (Sneakernet). The approach is aimed at the possibility of providing consumers with data in remote and infrastructurally isolated territories, which is especially important for the Northern regions of the Russian Federation. In addition to the macro-level architecture of the federal network, we considered a number of architectural and technological aspects of building separate network nodes and communication protocols between them, as well as issues of automation of basic infrastructural units and full control of the integrity and availability of data based on cryptographic methods. On top of the federal network, the creation of cloud services was proposed. These services provide remote sensing data processing and building of thematic information products based on them, both in a standard stream form and in special problem-oriented applications. This allows the conclusion that the proposed architecture is high-potential for creating a ground segment of a promising MS RS and its use for addressing problems of oil and gas industry. |
