The demographic load on the Volga River beaches in the Cheboksary urban district (Russia) significantly exceeds their maximum demographic capacity. This happens, first of all, due to the ?improper distribution? of holidaymakers between the beaches of the right and left banks of the Volga River. The ?improper distribution? of the holidaymakers is caused by the unjustifiably high cost of time, financial expenses that holidaymakers incur when visiting left-bank beaches. It is necessary either to significantly expand the line of equipped beaches on the right bank, or to massively redirect holidaymakers to the beaches of the left bank. Due to less anthropogenic pollution of the left bank, it seems preferable. More then 35-50 years ago river transport tariffs did not seem so large, a huge number of Cheboksary residents in summer hot days rushed to the left-bank beaches, using the ?river trams? for the crossing. It is necessary, at a minimum, to start exploring options for expanding the use of river transport in urban mass passenger traffic, acquiring in the required amount of modern, more economical "river taxis" and "river trams". It is very interesting experience of our neighbors in strengthening transport links between the two banks of the Volga River in Nizhny Novgorod region. In 2012 the cableway between the cities of Nizhny Novgorod (the right bank of the Volga) and Bor (the left bank of the Volga) was commissioned. All these measures can not only solve the problem of beach congestion, but also significantly stimulate the development of the residential and recreational zone in the Trans-Volga territories of the Cheboksary urban district.
