The problem relevance investigated in the article is due to several reasons. First, in recent decades, the world has seen such cities rapid growth that researchers have started talking about the "urban revolution." According to the UN Commission, 56% of the world's population already live in cities in 2019 [12], i.e. more than the world's population half, and this process is accelerating more and more. Megapolises are growing especially fast [2]. Secondly, cities with one million population are faced with serious problems number that require urgent solutions. Thirdly, the solving problems historical experience in some of the largest cities in the world can be applied in other megapolises.
The article purpose is to study the megapolises' emergence history, to identify these giant cities problems characteristic, to study solving ways most important, characteristic problems, their generalization and systematization for possible application. The analysis main method was the dialectical method, and such special research methods as the analysis, synthesis, comparative-historical, problem-chronological, actualization methods, concrete and logical analyses method and some others were used. In, as a result of, the study explored a megapolis concept genesis [7,423] [10,175], a term that is currently used to refer to cities with a population, as a rule, over a million inhabitants. It was found that urbanization is one of the human civilization development laws [1]. Starting in ancient times, this process accelerates sharply in the 19th century, with the industrial revolution beginning [2], and at the 20th-21st centuries turn, it takes on an ?urban revolution? character. Urbanization some features in China are considered. The main problems typical for the world modern megapolises' majority have been clarified and their solution possible ways have been proposed. |
