Currently, the degradation of the structure of chernozems in agricultural activities is taking place. At the same time, there is a natural diversity of chernozems that are located in different environmental conditions, so the degree of degradation can vary significantly. From these positions, the comparison of the structural-aggregate composition and waterproofness of the structure of arable chernozems, widespread in the Belgorod oblast and the Krasnodar territory, was carried out. The low quality of the structure of both soils was identified (from satisfactory to unsatisfactory). At the same time, the patterns of changes of the waterproofness of the structure vary considerably. The degree of degradation of the soil structure, depending on the assessment parameter, varies from undegraded to strong. According to the distribution of agronomically valuable fractions, the cluster of the middle and lower parts of the profile of compact chernozem and the cluster of the middle part of the profile of typical chernozem are separated. There are no clear patterns in the distribution of blocks. According to the waterproofness of the aggregates, all the horizons of the compact chernozem form the separate cluster.
