In order to study and analyze the state of the State Gravimetric Network for the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria, relative gravimetric measurements were carried out for part of the country. The studied territory covers 9 points of the reference gravimetric network. The gravimetric measurements were designed and implemented according to the realized gravimetric lines between them and gravity differences along the gravimetric lines were calculated. The obtained gravity differences are compared with the same from previous measurement cycles of the State Gravimetric Network carried out in the period 1988- 1993, as well as with gravimetric differences obtained from the global geopotential model EGM2008. The comparison of the gravity differences obtained from the current measurements and the one from previous cycles shows differences of less than 1 mGal. The maximum value of the formed gravity differences along the gravimetric lines is 0.68 mGal, and the minimum is 0.07 mGal. Comparison of the differences in gravity values obtained from gravimetric measurements and global geopotential models (EGM2008) show large differences that are not homogeneous and practically not analyzable. The comparison proves that due to the few actual gravimetric data used in the EGMs for the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria, their application in local areas is currently impossible. As a result of the measurements and analyses performed, conclusions and recommendations were made regarding the maintenance and need for modernization of the State Gravimetric Network.
