Abstract

With the decrease of production in conventional oil and gas resources, increasing attention is turning toward nonconventional oil sources to relieve the pressure caused by the lack of conventional stocks. Heavy oil and natural bitumen as two of the alternative sources are perhaps the most readily available to meet short- and long-term needs. As is well known, the physical and chemical properties of heavy oil and natural bitumen are quite different from conventional oils. Major differences include low content of the fractions boiling up to 350 пїЅC, a large amount of sulfur compounds, resins, and asphaltenes, all of which lead to a high viscosity and lower thermal stability. Therefore, an unusual approach is required to solve the problems of production, transportation and processing caused by the unique physical and chemical characteristics of natural bitumen requires. This work is devoted to solving the scientific problems that is associated with the creation of energy-saving technology of primary processing of a heavy hydrocarbon feedstock based on the method of flash evaporation. Intensification of flash evaporation process based on the fact when the heated raw material sprayed into the unit. Phase interface was increased by several times, and the processing of heavy oil distillate selection increases more than 3 times, with a worsening of residual product.
