DIRECTIONS FOR THE MODERNISATION OF THE LAND AND PROPERTY REGISTER SYSTEM IN POLAND
Abstract
In accordance with the applicable regulations, the Land and Property Register is used in Poland as the Cadastre. Given the critical significance of this system to all activities associated with the proper administration and management of the real estate, it is subjected to continuous modernisation efforts. Legal provisions define the process of Register modernisation as a set of technical, organisational, and administrative measures taken in order to supplement the Register databases, to establish the full range of the Register data sets as required by law and to modify the existing Register data so that they are adjusted to the requirements specified in the implementing rules. The primary objectives of the modernisation also include the gradual improvement of the quality of data stored in the system. The current measures aimed at the modernisation of Polish Cadastre are associated with the development of the Integrated System of Real Estate Information, whose main aim is to ensure access to complete, reliable, up-to-date, and integrated information on real estate, made available to the entire country via geoportal.gov.pl. The aim of the publication is to present the scope of work associated with the modernisation of the Cadastre, carried out in Poland in the current legal environment.
