Abstract

The solution of subsoil-structure interaction is affected by several factors as a choice of interaction model, influence of physical-nonlinear behaviour of structure and co-effects of the upper structure and the foundation structure. The subsoil-structure interaction can be solve by application of analytical methods or numerical methods - eg. Finite Element Method (FEM) or Boundary Element Method (BEM). FEM was used for numerical analysis performed in this article. Many different interaction models implemented in software has already been developed. The results of these software (or interaction models) but differ from each other. One of the most commonly software based on finite element method (FEM) which enable solution of subsoil-structure interaction is Scia Engineer, Ansys, Trimas, MKPInter and Plaxis. This article focuses on the comparison of slab deformation calculated in mentioned commercial software Ansys and Plaxis, which allow the solution of subsoil-structure interaction. Calculated slab deformations are also comparing with real values measured during experimental loading test of concrete slab on ground (obtained due to the unique experimental equipment for monitoring the interaction of foundations and subsoil).
