THE EFFECT OF ADDITIVES ON THE ACID-BASE PROPERTIES OF THE CLAY SURFACE
Abstract
Currently, the task of modifying the technological properties of mineral raw materials for the construction industry, road construction and the oil industry based on clay in order to obtain the specified characteristics, provided that the production cost is reduced, is relevant. The results of the study of the acid-base characteristics of the clay suspension surface without and in the presence of modifying additives that improve the plasticity of the mass, reduce shrinkage and crack formation in baked ceramics are presented. The acid-base properties of the surface were evaluated for the initial and modified clay samples with surfactant additives. The introduction of surfactant additives in the selected ranges made it possible to change the surface properties and improve the technological properties of natural clay raw materials for the manufacture of ceramics.
