EXPERIENCE TOURISM AS ONE OF THE FORMS OF UTILIZATION OF INDUSTRIAL AREAS
Abstract
Unlike classical tourism, where you only need to get to the chosen place and then have a good look at it, experience tourism requires much more from visitors. "Look" is not enough. It must be borne in mind that not only eyes, but also hearing, smell, taste and touch will be employed in the search. Experience tourism is a completely new trend in tourism in the Czech Republic, but it has a history in the world. Experience tourism was originally created as a marketing tool to promote sales, see e.g. Scotch whiskey distilleries. The operation of experiential tourism thus has undoubtedly also economic advantages, both for a company that decides to introduce its technical or technological monuments to the public, and for a given location, which will increase income from tourism. Permonium Amusement Park is located in Oslavany, 30 km from Brno (Jihomoravsky kraj, the Czech Republic). The original intention of the owner of the complex was to renovate only the Kukla tower in order to preserve the cultural monument in the region. However, as a result of the renovation, the idea of using the premises for a different purpose was created. This was the proposal for the construction of a theme park called Permonium, which is now part of the Kukla mine. There are 26 different attractions on the area (approx. 6000 m2). These are mainly technical attractions that are based on the history of this industrial region. In them is an interactive game Magic Permon, which was created with the help of modern information technologies. The system of this game is unique and unparalleled in the Czech Republic.
