Abstract

The article considers the systematic errors of estimation of reserves and average contents of useful component in exploration of alluvial deposits of nesting, tape, etc. structures. The article identifies and evaluates the main components of systematic errors in the assessment of mineral content, useful and harmful components in alluvial deposits based on theoretical, experimental and generalized published works: insufficient density of the exploration network; error due to unrepresentative sample size. These errors in the sum result in errors of allocation of counting blocks, errors in the average contents of blocks, errors of contouring of industrial sites and in general - to errors of estimation of deposits. This analysis suggests that the main reason for the omission of industrial sites in the deposits as well as the reason for the errors in the estimation of the reserves of useful components (underestimation), are the noted morphological features of the deposits. The article identifies more accurate estimates of systematic errors in calculation of reserves and indicates ways to increase the accuracy of estimation of metal reserves in placers of different morphological types. Geophysical technologies for the identification of the objects under consideration by a corresponding set of related geological factors can be a significant positive advance in this problem. Implementation of new error assessment methods and recommendations for their minimization reduces geological risks and operating costs in mining and processing.
