ANALYSIS FOR INTEGRATION OF RENEWABLE ENERGY AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN OPERATION OF OIL AND GAS FACILITIES
Abstract
The general concern about climate change and the actions that must be taken to protect the environment are current concerns and occupy the first places on global agenda regarding the search for viable and sustainable solutions. Transition to green energy involves numerous intensely analysed issues with major implications for the economies of many countries. Thus, integration of renewable energy in oil and gas operations is an increasingly used strategy to reduce the carbon footprint and improve sustainability of the industry, aspects presented in this paper. This transition to more sustainable solutions helps oil and gas companies to reduce their emissions and comply with new environmental regulations, given that the share of oil and gas use is currently majority in the industry. The paper also presents a case study on analysis of use for renewable energy to a fuel distribution station and for an oil/gas measurement panel. The analysis of all relevant aspects is carried out through modelling and simulation, with MATLAB - Simulink, and by implication of artificial intelligence (AI) in the process of optimizing energy production and consumption.
