Abstract

At the moment tourism industry in Europe and the whole world is undergoing significant changes: tourist travel habits are changing, the importance of environmental quality is increasing, the use of e-commerce is increasing, the variety and number of tourism products is increasing, and new tourism destinations are emerging. Considering the globalization processes and intensified competition, Latvia needs to identify its competitive advantages in developing tourism products and environment with greater sustainable development potential. Nowadays, quality management can be perceived as both ? a specific system and as a philosophy that underpins all organizational processes. In the opinion of the author, the introduction of a quality management system in the company includes not only the implementation of new requirements, but also changes the company's views on values including preservation of the environment. The research was carried out with the aim to establish the implementation of quality management as sustainability development factors in hospitality companies in Latvia. The research has been carried out in several stages. More than 500 hospitality companies from all regions of Latvia participated in the study. The purpose of this article is to analyse the factors influencing the implementation of the ISO standard in hospitality companies in Latvia.
