Abstract

An innovative concept for design and detailing of precast concrete frame structures is analyzed under accidental seismic-type loading. The new detailing of post-tensioned assembled structures derives from the special hybrid moment frames as defined in the ACI T1.2-03 standard. The alternative detailing of special reinforcements, named modified special hybrid joints, are bondless with respect to both column and beams. The model represents a corner of an actual multistoried structure, cropped in the middle of the beams and columns spans. Full scale spatial model test is performed under seismic type loading. Theoretical approach is developed, based on testing results. Discussion regarding the modified special hybrid joints behavior under accidental loadings with respect to acceptance criteria for test-based design structures, their special features and further on widening research development concludes the paper
