EXPERIENCE OF RUDN-UNIVERSITY IN ORGANISATION OF EDUCATIONAL COMPLEX ON HSE-MANAGEMENT IN OIL AND GAS COMPANIES
Abstract
Oil and gas complex is one of the key branches of the Russian economy and at the same time its activity is one of the largest sources of environmental damages. Safety of the environment, occupational safety as well as minimization of the technogenic risk are the sphere of regulation of a new management direction пїЅ HSE-management (from Engl. health, safety and environment). It allows us to coordinate the activities in protection of the environment, in safety of the staff and security of the technical objects. Importance of this integrated management direction for oil and gas sector is especially high. The source of different risks and challenges for the environment, occupational and technological spheres are common пїЅ this requires to select the common instruments to minimization of these risks. In practice oil and gas companies was the first in Russia who implemented this integrated approach. However, despite the popularity and relevance of the HSE profession, there is no one educational program in this direction. Taking into account these situation, in 2007 the team of PeoplesпїЅ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN-University) created a new educational complex on HSE-management for training of specialists for oil and gas sector. It was based on modern professional standards and requirements of oil and gas companies to the HSE-specialists. The complex was developed as a master program and realized on the Ecological faculty of RUDN-University. The core element of the program is a virtual training complex on environmental safety in oil and gas branch. This is a realization of a new educational technology that allows the immersion of a student into the virtual professional environment. Our experience and experience of the leading educational labs demonstrated a highest efficiency of this approach. The article shows the main approaches to elaboration of the content of the master program and to the development of the virtual training complex as well as principles of its functioning and perspectives of the development.
