MODELING AIR CHANGE RATE IN A NATURALLY VENTILATED BUILDING
Abstract
In this article the air infiltration through the envelope of a naturally ventilated building, located in Bra?ov (Romania) is studied. The paper presents the study of the factors which influence the air infiltration пїЅ wind effect and stack effect пїЅ and the modeling of air change rate (ACH) inside the building, by Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) modeling. It has been found that ?T can be a good predictor of ACH because of its high physically correlation with this. Another conclusion of the study is that although wind speed influences ACH, it alone is not a good predictor for this, when studied period includes the nights (in this case, she has a negative correlation with ?T). On the other hand, when the wind speed is high, its correlation with the ACH is quite good, so that the air flow due to wind can be the most important factor on a windy day. The main conclusion taken from this study is that the stack effect is the most important factor influencing the ACH inside the building.
