THE INTERACTIVE VIDEOTOUR AND ITS USE FOR GEOTOURISM DEVELOPMENT OF FORGOTTEN ARTIFICIAL WATER RESERVOIRS IN SELECTED MINING AREA
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to provide new opportunities in geotourism development in пїЅtiavnica mountains area via the new evolving application for tablets and smartphones called пїЅLike meпїЅcreated by the artist Judith Hofland. It is a location based game which leads the user especially through the non familiar trails within the city or town. The proposal is to applicate this videotour not just in urban areas but also in geotouristic localities. Thanks to this interactive videotour tourists could not just explore the surroundings and interesting geoturistic points but also get to know new people and find new friends. The app is providing all at once spatial and interactive experience. Users follow instructions to arrive at specific destinations as well as playing in app trivia games. The purpose of this paper is to create connection between theoretical knowledge of the monitored geotouristic area пїЅtiavnica mountains and its practical application via existing videotour пїЅLike meпїЅ. The analysis of customer preferences included in the paper is pointing out the interest in these types of mobile applications. The paper contains the examination of chemical composition of water in selected reservoirs as well, because not all reservoirs of пїЅtiavnica mountains area are suitable for swimming or fishing. The interest is dedicated mainly to water reservoirs which are not so well-known and which are not used for recreational purposes yet. The whole functioning of this app is described in the paper.
