Abstract

The use of the remote sensing in order to monitor the morphological parameters of littoral beaches must generate the support data and information for management of concrete environmental assessment in different situations, including evolution of the hydrodynamic models?extensions for the adjacent areas of maritime or fluvial ports. The result of rapid Geo-referencing, encompassed in the spatial data processing providesthe support for an adequate spatial analysis of the high resolution coastal/marine imagery. The results of satellite data analysis consist in distribution maps that have the optimal resolution needed or are in accordance with Directive/legal regulations of MSP/Maritime SpatialPlanning. The paper evaluates the possibility of shoreline changes prediction by numerical modelingof the shore response in concordance withthe change detection provided by the Remote Sensing techniques used for shoreline mapping. Thus, several cases of marine hydrological event, in the context of marine storms intensification, will be approachedin relation with the variability of geomorphological coastal parameters at short time scales, according to multiannualtrends of normal and exceptional regime, in certain vulnerable areas of the Romanian maritime ports. This approach has significant advantages, as it?s able to provides,in an operative mode, several hydro-technical improvements for thecoastal/maritimenavigation area.
